University of New England Morocco: Programs, Faculty, and Campus Life
A Unique Collaboration⁚ UNE's First Study Abroad Campus
UNE Morocco, the University of New England's Tangier Campus, is a one-of-a-kind facility and the first American university campus to be established in Morocco. Aiming to build connections between citizens of the U.S., Morocco, Europe and beyond, UNE Morocco offers both enriching global education opportunities and cultural initiatives. The University of New England (UNE) has opened a campus in Tangier — Morocco's first US-run university branch campus. An inauguration ceremony took place last month after the campus welcomed its first cohort of 23 students in January. No US university, to my knowledge, has done this before, said the manager of the project. This collaborative venture between UNE and the Moroccan government is a testament to the shared commitment to global education and cultural exchange.
A Global Education Hub in the Heart of Tangier
Nestled in the vibrant and historic city of Tangier, UNE Morocco serves as a gateway to the rich cultural tapestry of Morocco. Students can immerse themselves in the bustling souks, explore ancient medinas, and experience the warm hospitality of the Moroccan people. The campus itself is strategically located in the heart of Tangier, providing easy access to the city's many attractions, including the iconic Grand Socco square, the Kasbah, and the picturesque beaches. This prime location allows students to seamlessly integrate their academic pursuits with authentic cultural experiences, fostering a deeper understanding of Moroccan society and its diverse heritage.
State-of-the-Art Facilities and Diverse Course Offerings
UNE Morocco boasts state-of-the-art facilities designed to enhance the learning experience. The campus comprises two modern buildings equipped with cutting-edge classrooms, labs, and a dedicated sports court. These facilities provide students with a conducive environment for engaging in rigorous academic pursuits. The campus also offers a diverse range of courses in the sciences, humanities, business, and the arts, allowing students to explore their interests and expand their intellectual horizons. UNE's Tangier campus also offers English-language courses in Arabic, providing students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the local language and culture.
A Focus on Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Innovation
UNE Morocco fosters a dynamic learning environment that encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation. Students have the opportunity to engage in cross-cultural dialogue, exchange ideas with peers from diverse backgrounds, and work on collaborative projects that transcend traditional academic boundaries. This emphasis on interdisciplinary learning prepares students to tackle complex global challenges and contribute to a more interconnected world. By embracing innovation, UNE Morocco provides students with the tools and experiences necessary to become future leaders in their chosen fields.
