Passport Requirements

You can also apply for a transit visa, which allows you to transit through Nigeria on your way to another destination.

Visa Application Process

To apply for a Nigerian visa, you will need to submit an application online through the Nigeria Immigration website. You will need to create an account and then fill out the application form. You will also need to provide supporting documents, such as a passport valid for at least 6 months, a recent passport photo, a return flight ticket, and proof of sufficient funds. You will also need to pay a visa fee. Once you have submitted your application, you will be required to schedule an appointment for biometric/interview with OIS Washington Metro Office. You will need to go to this office in person to have your fingerprints and photo taken. Once your application is approved, you will receive a visa.

Visa on Arrival

Visa on Arrival is available to citizens of all countries except ECOWAS Nationals who do not require a visa to visit Nigeria and other countries which Nigeria has entered into visa abolition agreements. Travelers (except for U.S nationals, who have been waived from the fee since March 1, 2023) are now subject to a higher visa-on-arrival biometric fee application of USD 170, excluding other related visa and transaction fees (up from USD 90). To apply for a Visa on Arrival, you will need to visit the Nigerian Immigration Service website and complete the online application form. You will need to provide your passport details, travel itinerary, and proof of financial means.
