Churchill Wilds lodges are located in the heart of the Hudson Bay lowlands, which are part of a rich ecosystem teeming with wildlife. This area, where the boreal forest transitions to the Arctic tundra, is an active wildlife corridor that offers opportunities for some spectacular wildlife viewing. The lodge is situated on the shoreline of Hudson Bay, south-east of the frontier town of Churchill. With beautiful Boreal Forest as its backyard, the diverse ecosystem surrounding Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge is home to iconic Canadian wildlife such as polar bears, black bears, wolves and moose.

While polar bears and beluga whales captivate our interest in the Arctic and are the focus of many of our research projects, this unique laboratory project focuses on the seldom-seen small creatures inhabiting the oceans depths. Churchill and the surrounding area are home to a diverse and interesting wildlife population. Churchill is situated at the juncture of three ecosystems⁚ marine, boreal forest and tundra with each offering unique flora and fauna.
