The African American Youth Leadership Conference (AAYLC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is entirely funded by donations and run entirely by volunteers from the community. Our mission is to provide innovative programs and experiences that empower students in their communities and beyond. AAYLC is dedicated to supporting‚ promoting‚ and fostering leadership‚ education‚ and positive self-esteem among youth‚ and it provides a unique opportunity for students to develop their leadership skills and explore their potential. Our annual conference features interactive workshops in Leadership Development‚ Fine Arts‚ College Preparation‚ Entrepreneurship‚ Black History‚ STEM‚ Workforce Management‚ Personal Growth‚ and much more. Since its inception on January 16‚ 1993‚ the AAYLC continues to be a hallmark forum in addressing many of the challenges facing African American youth during their progression to adulthood. The Conference primary sponsor is the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity‚ Inc.‚ who in turn‚ enlists the expertise and support of community volunteers to deliver a dynamic and impactful experience for youth. The AAYLC is on an incredible journey to fulfill its mission of providing and supporting educational‚ personal‚ and leadership development for youth. Each year‚ AAYLC hosts a dynamic one-day conference featuring engaging sessions designed to inspire possibility‚ creativity‚ and imagination. Our conference offers innovative content that provides impactful development experiences for youth and their families‚ with adaptable insights for today's goals and challenges. The AAYLC established the Debra Wynn/Cleasther Marchman Scholarship in 1996 on the recommendation of Dr. Anne Bouie. The AAYLC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization‚ which is 100% funded by donations and 100% operated by community volunteers. Our annual conference provides engaging workshops‚ entertainment‚ social confidence and networking. Since the organization's inception over 26 years ago‚ we have awarded scholarships to deserving students. The AAYLC has a long history of providing opportunities for young people to develop their leadership skills and make a difference in their communities.
