The Adventist University of Central Africa (AUCA) was officially inaugurated on October 15‚ 1984. The university's founding was a collaborative effort‚ with a board of directors composed of 23 members representing the East-Central Africa Division‚ each Francophone union‚ the North Rwanda Association‚ and the Adventist Seminary of West Africa. The president of the division served as the board chair‚ while the president of the Rwanda Union Mission held the position of vice chair;
